Destitute after a brutal divorce, John Haig is forced to sell the park-like Lake Superior land he loves, unaware of a conspiracy to put a shotgun in the hands of his alcoholic ex-wife, a woman desperately awaiting his return.

Haig awakens in a hospital after being shot by his wife, but soon learns that he is the prime suspect in her murder. He later discovers that his wife had willed him her house and all the property adjacent to his land. Suddenly in possession of land worth a small fortune, Haig must stand alone against a deadly set of characters possessed with the desire for his land.

A Lake Superior storm rages as Haig slowly uncovers the truth, of which the only clues are given by the dead: the mystic affects of his dead wife, and by the tales of an eccentric old fisherman. Lost in the fog, he stumbles over bodies in a surreal junkyard lost, as gunfire erupts amid a wildfire of discoveries that will either kill or heal a broken man.
